Networking - wireless - TP-LINK TLWA500G repeater

I recently installed a repeter to my sister's house and it took me like ages to find the correct settings. So I decided to put everything up on the internet so any of you can work similar problems out. The repeater I bought was the cheapest on the market. TP-LINK TLWA500G was the model of the repeater and thomson TG585 v7 was the model of the router.
These are settings I should put from the beggining :
  1. set the repeater ip to 192.168.1.1
  2. set the router ip to 192.168.1.254 (if it is not already there).
  3. know the ISP DNS addresses.
  4. use static ip address to PCs'.
  5. subnet mask 255.255.255.0
  6. Disable DHCP of the repeater and set ip range from 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.253
  7. wireless mode : universal repeater due to compatibility reasons (for the repeater)
  8. set router and repeater encryption : wep , 64 bits, same key
  9. also set the same fixed channel to both of them
  10. Mode should be 802.11g
  11. Region of the repeater : Greece (that is my region) and router's region: Europe
I know this is a little complicated but I am sure you when you sort things out, it is going to work for you. Don't give up!
